A fine lesson in the art of receiving, MAISON RIKA, a petite guesthouse located in the hip ‘9 streets’ district of Amsterdam. Guests are welcomed on the ground floor of this traditional, 17th Century townhouse, formerly a gallery. The second and third floors each boast a beautifully furnished bedroom with heart-stirring views over the historic Herengracht canal.
The personal touch extends to the service, with the Rika staff happy to book restaurant reservations and share insider tips. “Our aim is for our guests to enjoy the genuine, off-the-beaten-track Amsterdam,” says Ulrika.
The maison is a natural extension of the Rika World, as a place for curating finds sourced on Ulrika’s travels.
The Maison houses works by her favourite artists and designers, including custom furniture by Paul Lelieveld and artwork by San Ming.
Key design features are the ancient wooden floors painted black and custom furniture. The room has a cozy queen size bed with large pillows and crisp white bed linen.
The +/- size of the room is +/-22m2 /235 sq ft.
Complementary WiFi, bikes, tea & coffee, snacks, an issue of our latest Rika Magazine and our signature canvas shopping bag to take home. Each day the room is refreshed.
The View Room is located on the first floor, its signature feature is the charming corner lounge area by the full windows. Full of plush pillows, it is the perfect spot to relax and take in one of Amsterdam’s historical canals.
The Loft Room is located on the top floor, its signature feature is the high ceilings and original beams of the old Dutch house. It also features a cosy sitting area against the window looking over the historical canal and lively ‘Nine Streets’.
