The farmers adopt a progressive approach to all farming practices, especially animal health and well-being. Our makers have voluntarily obtained certifications including GRS (Global Recycled Standard), GOTS® (Global Organic Tex- tile Standard), OEKO-TEX Standard 100®, circular economy brand Re.VersoTM, FSC (Forest Steward- ship Forest) and RWS (Responsible Wool Standard). Wool in its many forms; cashmere, kid merino, alpaca, are among the world’s luxurious and precious natural fibres. They are extremely soft and insulating, while also having anti-bacterial and moisture-wicking properties. Store The best way to store your wool garments is folded in a cupboard or on a shelf. Avoid hanging your knits as this can stretch them out. Airing (flat on a clothing rack) and spot cleaning your knits is advised, to keep the number of regular washes to a minimum. Use a comb or brush to remove any pilling on your cashmere blend knits. Pilling naturally occurs over time and with wear, so regular maintenance with a special cashmere comb is advised. Lay your knit flat and comb gentle in one direction to remove. Wash Wash on its own with cold water, either by hand or on a delicate or woolens cold machine wash; this prevents shrinking, colour fading and bleeding. If hand washing, mix cold water and a gentle, natural cashmere / wool detergent together in a clean basin. Submerge your item and gently swirl it around, leaving it to soak for up to 20 minutes. Thoroughly rinse detergent off with cold water, gently pressing the water out, ensuring not to wring, rub or stretch your knit. Empty and refill with clean water to soak again, and repeat until the water is no longer soapy. Roll up in a clean towel and gently squeeze the water out before laying out to dry. Leave to dry naturally, flat on a dry towel in the shade, away from direct sunlight or heat. If you have machine washed on a cold, delicate cycle, remove promptly to reduce creasing. Always naturally dry your knit. Avoid putting your cashmere or other woolen garments in the dryer – this can lead to shrinking and can harm the integrity of the fibre. Steam rather than iron to eliminate any wrinkles Your RIKA STUDIOS pieces can also be dry cleaned at your local, eco-friendly dry cleaner. Wash Wash with cold water, either by hand or on a delicate cold machine wash, always with similar colours to avoid any colour transfer or running. If hand washing, mix cold water and detergent together, gently wash your RIKA STUDIOS piece and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Rinse off all the detergent residue with cold water and gently squeeze the water off, ensuring not to wring the water out. Hang out to dry away from direct light.
