About - Rika Rika

The Founder

Stylist-turned-designer, Ulrika Lundgren, founded her succesful fashion label Rika in 2005. It started with a handmade leather bag with stars, which is now a classic. After her bags came a small collection of ready to wear and before she knew it, she had her own fashion and accessory label: Rika by Ulrika Lundgren.

Rika is not just a brand, but a never-ending story – Rika’s World. Next to her label and Rika Boutique, which is located in the city’s hip shopping district the “9 streets”, there is also Rika Magazine and Rika Maison, which is also based in Amsterdam.

Everything is very Scandinavian, just like the Swedish Ulrika herself. Fifteen years ago she moved from Sweden to the Netherlands together with her husband and eldest son Felix. Her youngest, Luca was born in Amsterdam.

Ulrika has worked as a fashion and interiors stylist for prestigious magazines such as Casa Vogue and ELLE Decoration. She also won awards such as; The Golden Button 2014, for Best Designer, Elle award for Best Accesory Brand and Prize of Honour award.

Rika By Ulrika Lundgren

RIKA is far more than just a clothing label; it’s a lifestyle. Simplicity and effortless are the words that describe the brand best.

In Ulrika’s own words: “It’s all about a simple way of wearing clothes. Functional and easygoing.  Ulrika creates kinds of cool mix-and- match, day-to-night universal wordrobe; be it a classic men’s shirt tailored to fit a woman’s body, clean silhouettes in vegetal-dyed leather or a graphic striped Tee to break up a suit jacket. The focus is on natural materials that will age beautifully; cool, modern-minded clothes and accessories with a soul.

RIKA’s fresh, easy, timeless aesthetic has organically resonated with likeminded real women and high profile beautiful souls alike, including Julianne Moore, Caroline de Maigret, Saskia de Brauw and Daria Werbowy. Rika is inspired by these women, their ambiton, and character.

Rika Magazine

Ulrika also wears the hat of publisher, as the brains behind Rika magazine, a collector bi-annual ma- gazine celebrating inspirational women in the arts. Combining arresting imagery with out-of-the-box features the beautifully produced title holds its own with the industry’s leading independent players, led by a formidable pool of contributors including Tallulah Harlech, Patti Wilson and Naho Kubota.

A purely editorial publication, Rika Magazine prints limited copies, available at selected retailers in key cities all over the world. This unique publication shapes itself as an aesthetic testament to the Rika creative collective’s relationship with fashion, music and art.
